The Cross-Channel Institute
The Cross-Channel Institute is an independent non-profit think tank, dedicated to fostering Franco-British economic relations through studies, analyses and debates, and to providing an innovative and sustainable vision to French and British companies, our members and institutions.
Why a Think Tank?
- The goals we set are
- Promote a strong and historical friendship between Franco-British business relations;
- Publish relevant economic analyses and studies and launch the first Barometer on Economic Relations;
- Propose innovative ideas and solutions to consolidate the future between our two countries;
- Organize events and debates for decision-makers who shed light on current and future business issues;
- Involve experts, talents and across generations to cooperate in the development of new initiatives to strengthen Franco-British economic relations.
The think tank - often translated into French as a "Laboratory of ideas" - is a research organization built around policy (particularly economic and cultural) expertise whose primary purpose is to produce and promote innovative ideas among political and economic decision-makers. The activity of think tanks is usually organised around the publication of notes and reports that are freely accessible and events that bring together experts and decision-makers around specific themes.
How are we going to proceed?
The Cross-Channel Institute is based on a strategic partnership between its three founders - the Franco-British Chamber, the international audit firm PwC, and the DIT - its members and partners. It is composed of a Strategic Committee and an Operational Committee. Founders, partners and members meet regularly.
The Strategic Committee
The Strategic Committee defines the main orientations of the Institute's reflection and ensures that it fulfils its objectives and missions, set in a coherent manner and respecting the Institute's ethical charter.

Paul Taylor
The Operational Committee
The Operational Committee is the space for ideas and proposals that enable the Institute to meet its objectives.
